Clay serves as Chief Credit Officer at Pioneer Bank. He is responsible for setting credit policy, reviewing and approving loan requests, monitoring borrower performance, and mentoring team members across the organization.
Beyond his role at the bank, Clay has first-hand experience running his own business, Beans Coffee Company in Mankato. Beans Coffee Company is a small batch coffee roaster with an online presence as well as a coffee shop in lower North Mankato, Beans Coffee House. Having direct experience running his own business allows Clay to connect better with customers because he has navigated many of the same challenges, and he understands how a business is represented on financial statements.
Originally from a grain and livestock farm in southwest Minnesota, Clay credits his upbringing for shaping his strong work ethic. He earned his MBA from Minnesota State University, Mankato in 2021 and has lived in the Mankato area since 2009. Clay and his wife Britta have three children, and enjoy being part of the vibrant southern Minnesota community.
